My Travel Story

Hello!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my page :).

Since, I've been a child, African history, stories, music, and languages have always interested me. For example, did you know there are approximately 2000 languages spoken in Africa ALONE.

A continent with 54 countries speaks that many languages! to me, that's fascinating and what I find more fascinating is that no one really knows the true amount. African, history, culture and languages alongside many other things have been erased throughout history by other civilisations, but the continent still stands strong! which only deepens my love for it. Being of Nigerian heritage growing up in the UK, I was misinformed with an idea of Africa which I now know to be false, since early last year I've been travelling around Africa which has led me to this very point.

At the start of 2019 I set off to experience everything African and though I've been to nearly every other continent, there is no place like Africa!

With your funding, I aim to do 2 things;

- Capture the true essence of African architecture, music, culture, cuisines, clothing, traditions and so much more!

My vision is to showcase travel in Africa to dispel some of the myths surrounding African countries. Africa is not a war-torn, impoverished continent as the media paints it out to be, in fact, the continent is rich in natural resources and over 30% of the WORLD's resources come from Africa. I have a youtube channel where I create African related content however, due to me not having the correct videography equipment, I have lost a lot of my footage on my travels. I need better equipment and more financial capital to create more content. With your donation, I plan to buy good quality camera and video equipment and get my business plan underway.


- Help more Africans via my support programme.
I have my own website; adeafrica.com where I share information about the different African countries. I also have a support programme that aims to provide more African communities with sustainable income by selling their products to a global audience.The pandemic has hit a lot of people hard and though many African countries don't have high cases of COVID, their tourism industry has suffered a lot pushing many into abject poverty. By travelling to these countries, I will able to connect with local vendors who I can help with my support programme. In December 2021, I am hoping to travel across West Africa (Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria) to document my journey and also find new partners for my support programme.
