My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Will Hay and in July 2017 I will be going on a one of a kind adventure to Nakuru, Kenya with African Adventures, an organisation that provides help to revitalise deprived areas.

The overall aim of the trip is to help the citizens in the area who are very unfortunate as a high percentage live in poverty, do not receive frequent education and rarely get more than one meal per day.

To improve this I will be helping to build buildings which can provide a form of shelter to the people that are sadly living in poverty. I will also be teaching the children which will allow them to have a basic level of education to help them in life. Lastly I will be carrying out sporting activities where everyone can help take part and bond to form a community.

As you may have realised £1900 seems a large amount of money to raise, so to gain this money I will be fundraising up until July along with the others going on the trip in various activities such as fun runs, cake sales etc. Part of the money goes towards project funding and the rest allows me to be there so that I can improve the lifestyles of the people there.

I will be posting what events I will be carrying out to fundraise on this page so make sure you check the updates. I am looking forward to going on this trip and am very grateful to have the opportunity.

    Last Sunday, me and the other students going on the Kenya trip went to Tesco , Potter Bar to pack peoples bags.
    We had a great day explaining what we were going to do to the customers, who most of the time wanted their bags packed and donated.
    In total we managed to raise £830.87 between all of us
