My Travel Story

by: Natasha Karim Start Date: Oct 21, 2018 - End Date: Feb 20, 2019
Hello friends!

Over the next 2 weeks, I am volunteering at a Community Project in Cambodia.  I am based in a rural school in the village of Prasat Char, a little over 20km from Siem Reap town.  This is through a local project partner charity called Helping Hands Cambodia, a grassroots Globalteer managed organisation that runs a complementary school for over 300 children in rural Cambodia, teaches health and hygiene, and in the past has built bridges, fixed roads and provided training on agriculture and nutrition in partnership with the community.

Their community project runs in and around Siem Reap that focus on the poor and vulnerable and helps them and their families to establish long-term solutions to their needs through education, health care, nutrition and income generation.

Free breakfast is provided to the children attending the school to ensure the students have at least one  nutritious meal a day to better learn effectively.
To learn more about them, please visit their website below.

I have already purchased some school equipment for classes but I would like to raise more money to buy materials to paint classrooms, any other equipment needed for teaching/classes and also their library is limited and could really do with extra books.

I would really like to do something wonderful for these children and make a difference while I am here and if you would like to donate to this, I would be most grateful.  All funds raised will go towards this project. No amount is too small!

Thank you so much in advance,
Natasha
