My Travel Story

Hello! My name is Mariah Khorasani and I am currently a junior at Arizona State University! I will be getting my degree in Film Practices and graduating in May of 2019. Coming into college I always wanted to travel and study abroad, but I thought there would be no possible way to afford it. So, I avoided it until this semester. I decided this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and possibly life changing. I am dedicating myself to raising the money, so I can have the wonderful opportunity to travel. In my future I hope to use my degree and document culture and poverty across the world. My passions include film and volunteering, so my biggest dream is to combine the two. This study abroad program will be the first chance I get to explore this possible future career. My program is aimed to study culture and lifestyle within film in these countries, so there's no better program for me. I also have never left the country, so this would be my first time traveling! I know asking people to donate for something of this cause is a bit tricky and may be hard to understand for some, but all I ask is a little support from you. Anything and everything counts!! Also, for every $50 I receive I will volunteer for one hour at Feed My Starving Children in Phoenix, AZ. Their statement, "Our process is simple. Donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!". Not only would you be helping a wanderlust, culturally eager student, but you would also be donating time to help feed children across the world. Thank you so much for your support!!

    Hello! Thank you to everyone who has been donating and helping me out! The trip is getting closer and I am so excited :) I've been getting in my volunteer hours and will update you all on how much I've done & the experience later this week/next week. I am excited to further expand my knowledge and increase my experiences of cultural documentation. Thank you all so much!
