My Travel Story

Dear family and friends,

I was recently awarded this once in a lifetime opportunity to complete an internship abroad in Dublin, Ireland, between January and April 2016. I have gained a passion for developing and implementing outreach programming through my work as a Student Health Advocate at Brockport. I will use the skills I have developed from my previous volunteer internships at the National Kidney Foundation and VA Medical Center in Albany, NY to reach my assigned community in Ireland. My goal is to fully emerge myself into the Irish culture, make a positive impact in the people I will be servicing, and to learn some of the best health practices to bring back and integrate into American society. This internship will strengthen my desire to improve the future of international public health and disease prevention. All contributions will help fund my travel and living expenses during my last undergraduate semester.

I will update you all on my progress during the months away and will make time to send postcards for whoever sends their address! Maybe you'll even see me dance a Jig at graduation!
