My Travel Story

I'm Lisa, an 11th grader at High Tech High in San Diego.

When I was in elementary school, just after I discovered what college was, I heard about Cambridge University in the U.K and instantly fell in love with it. Cambridge is my dream school but it is also nearly impossible to get into. I was lucky enough to have been offered a chance to spend my summer studying and living at Cambridge. There's just one problem, the money. With 3 other kids and paying for my brother's college education, my parents don't have the funds to help me afford this experience and I don't want to put anymore strain on them. I already have a lot of money saved up and am working hard to earn more, I just need a little help.

This trip will give me an opportunity to take college course taught by Cambridge professors, while being immersed in the British culture. This trip will provide for me insight into a different culture and a college lifestyle. 

I am a really independent person and hate asking for help but I am also a dreamer and I don't know if I'll ever get a chance like this again. It would mean the world to me to be able study at Cambridge even if it is just for one summer.

Details: The money will be used to pay for airfare, class tuition, and living expenses.
