My Travel Story

I am fundraising for my volunteer trip to South Africa!

I will be volunteering at a child day care center based in a township in the Cape Town suburbs attended by children living in poverty and from broken homes. Some of the children have lost their parents to crime, alcohol or drug abuse, and HIV/ AIDS, forcing them to live with their relatives or neighbors, who often do not have the means to take proper care of them.

This is something I have wanted to do since I was about 8 years old and I still have my diary with it written in from that age! I hope to impact not only the children's lives, but also support their families and do what I can to assist the staff in any practical way they need because they do such an amazing job!

I am fundraising for this trip to support my funds with having to take time off work, the program fees, travel, vaccinations and insurance. I will also get to explore the beautiful country in any free time we get!

There is absolutely NO pressure to give a single thing, but I thought I might as well share it with friends and family if anyone did want to give anything (but once again no pressure AT ALL). Thank you for reading if you have got up to this point in my spiel!
