My Travel Story

I have always been passionate about the environment around me. Ever since I can remember I've wanted to be a part of the movement to help fight the challenges that our ecosystem faces. This project will give me the chance to do this, and it can't happen at any more of a perfect time. 

In September 2015 I will be leaving home to join university to study a Geography BSc and I feel as though it's important for me to end my 'childhood' in the most memorable way, doing something incredible. This project involves me traveling to the beautiful country of Australia where I will be volunteering as part of a conservation project, doing everything from wildlife research to environmental conservation.

It will be my first solo travel experience and of course I decided to choose somewhere over 10,000 miles away! But not only is it a country and location which I have long since desired to go, but it's doing something close to my heart. 

I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to do this, especially since it's something so important to me. To say it will be an experience of a lifetime is a colossal understatement as the life skills and lessons I know I can learn from doing this project are incredible. I have been given the chance to take part in activities which are not only amazingly exciting but they're things which will genuinely help to better the Australian environment - a place which faces so many hazards. As well as aiding the protection and bettering of the Australian landscape I will gain valuable fieldwork skills which will only support me throughout my university degree. 

The money raised through this campaign will help towards paying for my return flights to Brisbane. Thank you so much for your consideration, you're helping to make a dream come true!

  • Cake Sale - A Success!

    Cake sale - a success!
    Thank you to everyone who donated and bought from my cake sale held in school. Thanks to your generosity [and large appetites] I was able to raise a huge £120!

     

  • Bake Sale Fundraising!

    Thank you to everyone who has donated to my fund in the past few months, I am blown away! 
    I am hosting a cake sale this Thursday in order to raise money for my return flights. All money raised will go into this fund. Can't wait!
