Hello!

I am so excited to say that I will be heading to Prague in January 2020 to take part in the Language House's Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) program!

As some of you may know, I've decided to take a gap year instead of heading back to school this fall in order to take some time to really figure out what I want to do after school (without spending thousands more on tuition). For a long time I've wanted to teach, but it never seemed like a very plausible option until now. 
I'll be taking a four week course where I will be learning to confidently teach English to foreign students, make lesson plans, and to become an engaging and effective teacher. After the course, I'll be finding a job teaching in Prague until June, when I'll be returning home. With this certification and the networking community of The Language House, I'll be able to find a job teaching English anywhere in the world, and I can't wait to see what other opportunities I'll have after completing this course!

While this is definitely a worthwhile experience, it's definitely not an inexpensive one. I will be working throughout the fall semester to save up for this trip, but I would so appreciate any contributions, big or small, that you'd be able to make towards my time abroad. Words can't express how grateful I am to be able to have this experience, and I'm so excited to share my adventures!
