Pure Michigan to Pura Vida, life in Costa Rica
My Travel Story
On May 31st, I depart from the United States on my way to San Jose, Costa Rica for two adventure-filled months. The first four weeks, I will be taking a 5-credit Spanish class at the Universidad Veritas. The final four weeks, I will be working at the Museo de los Ninos (Children's Museum) right downtown San Jose between 15-35 hours a week. During the entire 8 week period of time, I will be living with a host family in a neighborhood right outside downtown.
I am extremely excited and thankful for this opportuity to study and work abroad this summer. During my time abroad, I plan to fully immerse myself in the Costa Rica (Tica) culture. My roommate and I plan to travel around the country, along with neighboring countries to make the most of our trip. We will be going ziplining, white water rafting, bungee jumping and much much more.
I have always had a profound love for traveling and learning about other cultures. There is no doubt I will come back to the States at the end of July a changed person, who just happens to be fluent in Spanish :)
If you would like to follow my experiences and adventures abroad, please feel free to follow my blog. This opportunity does not come along very often and I am extremely thankful to have it, so any contributions to my experience abroad is always greatly appreciated.
