Send Bryan Erick Ambriz To Study in The Philippines
My Travel Story
Growing up I never really had the opportunity to choose where I go or live. Like many kids of mexican immigrants, I grew up poor and unable to explore the world. Despite all that I manage to go to a good university and pursue my dream of being a game designer. Along with that opportunity came another which is the opportunity to study abroad.
The Philippines and Mexico share so many cultural traits and history, but at the same time they are both two unique cultures. I want to further explore this common connection they share while at the same time seeing a new place filled with adventure and new things to discover.
I also believe that exploring another country, especially one that is not commonly visited as much as most first world countries, will help me pursue my dream of making video games that represent peoples who are not commonly represented. That includes women and people of cultures that are not traditionally used in video games, and even if they are I would like to show them in a non-stereotypical or fetishized light.
I hope that this will open a brand new door for me as I wish to continue traveling. This will be my first trip and I hope it won't be my last.
