Send Elizabeth Ridolfi on a Field Research Trip to Bhutan!
My Travel Story
I am an Environmental Studies/Environmental Horticulture major with a passion to travel and see the world. Even though I am only in my second year of college, I already have plans to go to graduate school and study the microclimates created by plants as a method of bioremediation. As anyone who has ever tried for grad school knows, it is competitive. To broaden my skills, I have taken/will take many field labs through my junior college. However, the world is a big place and one day field excursions in California do not give me the understanding of the world I feel I need to have in order to change it. So I applied to many different study abroad opportunities this summer. I met my goal of going on a six week field study in Bhutan (click on the url below). This trip involves ecosystem studies, wild life biology, plant biology and other activities such as cultural studies. I was accepted to the Bhutan Program on January 27th! Through the generosity of many donors and some scholarship money, I was able to secure the funds to confirm my place in the program. I had to take out two loans in order to make ends meet, and my goal is to pay those off as quickly as possible. I would like to thank anyone who has helped me so far and those who are planning on it as well. Thank you for giving me the jumpstart I need to change the world!
