Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies

In Nigeria West Africa, the post populous balack nation in the world, with one of the highest levels of poverty, abandonement of unwanted babies either by putting them in the dumpster, throwing them into running rivers or even leaving them unattended in thick dangerous forests is common practice in rural parts of the country.

This is as a result of a lack of awareness on the parts of families, lack of better alternatives such as the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies that I will be proposing to the 1st Lady of Ogun State in Nigeria. Having a Safe Haven in rural areas in Nigeria will eliminate the process of abandoning unwanted babies via inhumane methods.

Adult Day Programs for Frail Seniors and Adults

I will also be discussing the possibility of setting up an Adult Day Program and Service Center for Frail Seniors and Adults that suffer from  Dementia and Alzheimer's. Seniors will come to the center daily to receive Peer Socialization, Therapeutic and Sensory Stimulating Activities designed to ward of depression and delay the progression of the diseases.

These projects will be of great benefit to the country. Abandoned babies will also be properly cared for as opposed to the inhumane practices mentioned above, The frail elderly will also get the chance to get out of the house and engage in various benefitting activities.
