My Travel Story

During my time at Dominican University of California, I have reached for all opportunities presented to me to become a participant of a global society. Endless insights have been granted to me from family excursions to Costa Rica and Hawaii, to an EF College Study Tour all over Eastern Europe. Additionally, I am an active member of DU's Campus Ministry, in which I have participated in trips to be a cabin leader at Caritas Creek as well as to Yakima, WA to partner with Habitat for Humanity. 

Now, I am able to go along with my peers to El Salvador in January of 2016 to learn about the history, culture, and their present socioeconomic issues. We will meet with many organizations and governmental bodies throughout the duration of our 10 days in El Salvador. 

Beyond the fascination generated with being in a foreign country, I am playing a major role of bringing awareness to a country in which citizens have long been oppressed. El Salvador, located centrally in the Americas, underwent a corrupt civil war in the late 1900s. Today, there is still presence of deprivation. I can't wait to meet with everyone and return to share their stories with you all! 

For each amount contributed, I will have incentives to go along with including: access to my travel blog, postcards written with a personal thank you message for your support, hand-made ceramic pieces, self-made graphic design images per your choice, etc.!

    Feeling super blessed by all that have supported me in my trip to El Salvador this upcoming January. In just under a week I'll be there!
