Study Abroad in Denmark
My Travel Story
The International Program at Whittier College is conducting a faculty-led course entitled To Denmark and Beyond: Exploring Child and Family Well-being in Workfare and Welfare States, involving my major which is an extraordinary opportunity outside the classroom and it is vital for a student like myself to participate in an unforgettable travel experience. My major is Child Development and the skills acquired from this trip will expand my horizons about the field; I will walk away with a focal point on my dream career. The trip will lead to doors of new ideas, interests and information about my major. Child development is fascinating to me because it involves with the biological, psychological and emotional changes of early human life to the end of adolescence which are the vital years of growth. The possibility of combining studying abroad and my major captivates my desire in the occasion of attending. I have never traveled to a country that involved crossing an ocean and with the state the economy is currently; traveling is a high expense. Not everyone can afford therefore being able to participate in the course would mean providing hands on learning skills in another country. The experience obtained from the faculty-led course will lead to more experience and data for the senior project as an undergraduate student. As I pursue my major in education, I hope of using this trip as a guide to my career plans in education. Denmark is an opportunity of a lifetime!
