My Travel Story

The opportunity for us to engage in the Atlantis Project Program and shadow doctors in a European hospitals will be invaluable for many reasons. First, this experience will allow us to shadow more than 5 different medical specialties (from pediatrics to surgery) and help us to broaden our medical knowledge and further prepare us for medical school. We will also be able to observe the functioning of a European Healthcare system and draw important comparisons between American and European styles. The cultural aspect to this internship is also immense. We will be immersed in the Azorean Culture and daily routines which will give us valuable insight into the values of different cultures and the value that that can have in the medical arena. Lastly, the main goal of this experience is to translate all of the knowledge we gain while abroad into our own medical careers in the future. We believe that this will prepare us to treat others with greater compasion and care as we seek a life of service to those in need.

Note: This $5000 goal does not represent the full cost of our tuition, the total cost (for both of us combined) comes out to near $16,000, but we felt like it would be a good start and are greatful for any help that we may recieve.

$10- Access to our blog so you can follow us throughout our travels! 

$15- We will send you a personalized post card from the Azores or Spain describing your greatest attributes and why you should feel good about yourself, in addition to access to our blog!

$20- Recieve all of the above, in addition to a 'shout-out' on the blog, proclaiming you 'hero-of-the-day' explaining to all who read the blog just how wonderful you are.

$25- Recieve all of the above, plus on one of our excursions we will find a majestic, untouched, and isolated portion of land to claim in your name! (This is not a legally binding action, nor is it recognized by the countries of Portugal or Spain... But you still deserve it.)

$50- Recieve all of the above, in addition to a well worded poem, cataloging your profound greatness, and love for mankind.

$75- Recieve all of the above, as well as a personalized portrait, painted by one or both of the talented travelers. (Photo's shall be 'interpretive' and scavenged from Facebook for reference.)

$100- Recieve all of the above, in addition to a personalized song, illustrating your most physically, spiritually, and emotionally stimulating features. Plus we pledge our undying love for you until the day we die.

$1,000- Receive all of the above, plus a special date night involving a flight around the Bitterroot Valley, dinner, and a movie. P.S... We love you.

  • Update!

    We just learned, a few days ago, that we will have the opportunity to teach some english classes while we're there! This is very exciting/a little daunting, but it will be an amazing experience all the same.

  • Getting There!

    Hello Good People,

    After a little over a week of fundraising, we've raised over $1600 towards our $5000 goal! This is all thanks to the generosity and caring of all of our friends and family. Thanks to all of those who liked the post on facebook and shared it among your friends and across other social media as well. For those of you who have donated, thank you so much and Zander and I will be contacting you before we leave on our trip to get some email/mailing info from you so we can reward you appropriately (you've earned it). We love you and are excited to see how far this can go. Tell your friends!
