Welcome Abroad: Flight 9.9.15 non-stop Denver to Prague
My Travel Story
Here are some of mine:
1. Not visiting the CU Boulder campus before my senior year of High School
2. Eating too much ice cream at the dessert bar in the C4C
3. Not hiking the Flatirons until the summer of 2015
4. Living under Boulder Property Management
5. Waiting in line for 30 minutes at the Chipotle at 29th Street Mall instead of going to Pearl
6. Taking The Sink shot 2 minutes after turning 21 (SPICY)
7. Spending way too much money on Cosmo's Pizza after 2 a.m. (and of course the ranch)
8. Buying all the "required" textbooks
9. Taking too few pictures of the Flatirons
10. Only visiting the rec center 5 times
Now, if one of my biggest regrets is the amount of money I spent on Cosmo's after 2am, then I'll be happy. You may have noticed the typical regrets such as: be more involved, choosing art as a major, not meeting more people, (and most importantly) not studying abroad, aren't (and won't) be on my list.
I believe in adventure, making the most of experiences, and grasping opportunities. One year ago, I thought studying abroad would be my biggest regret since I simply thought it was not a possibility. I said maybe after I graduate I can travel, or after I have a job, and for a while I was satisfied with that answer.
BUT... being the impatient person I am (and we all know it), that wasn't good enough. So I did my research, brainstormed where I wanted to go, and decided to study abroad at the University of Economics, Prague in the fall semester of my senior year.
So, why Prague?
1. Beer is cheaper than water
2. "If European cities were a necklace, Prague would be a diamond among the pearls"-Anonymous
3. I can easily travel to surrounding countries
4. It has a low cost of living
5. Studying at an Economics/Business school
6. Every person I know who visited LOVED it
.... among many many more.
Plus, have you seen this place? It can’t be beat.
What’s next?
The plane tickets are booked, travel trips planned, and excitement is kicking in. On September 9, 2015 I will board a plane for my semester abroad and will return on December 19. BUT I NEED YOUR HELP FIRST!
Help me learn about new cultures, open my mind to change, and allow me to step outside of my comfort zone. I want to live in a world totally different than mine, learn all that I can AND YOU CAN HELP by contributing to my trip.
