My Travel Story

Hello, my name is Christian and I am a 6th grader at the Oak Ridge School in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Next month myself and about 25 other students will be going to Yellow Stone National Park, the purpose of this trip is to give us an “opportunity for service learning and travel to inspirational places within our own amazing country.” We will be hiking Snowking Mountain, Moose Ponds and Taggart Lake in the Tetons, upper and lower Yellowstone Falls and along the Madison River. We are also visiting the Prismatic Hot Springs, explore the mud pots and see Old Faithful. On day 6 we will be volunteering at the Grizzly and Wolf Center which I am the most excited about, this center houses grizzly bears and gray wolves who are unable to survive alone in the wild.

In order for me to go on this trip I have to raise all of the money that will cover my flight, lodging and food. I have been able to raise $600.00 by doing different fundraisers with other kids that are going on the trip. So far we have had bake sales, a Game Night for the younger grades, we went to Stop and Shop and people “sponsored” us to do a Polar Plunge and at Walmart customers gave us donations for rocks that we all painted and we have a couple more to do before we leave for our trip.

Of course I will have my phone with me so I will take pictures of everything that we do and post them so all of you can see them. Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my trip and thank you for helping me reach my financial goal so that I am able to go.
