My Travel Story

Hello everyone,
As some of you may know, I have decided to spend my spring semester of 2020 abroad in Stellenbosch, South Africa. While abroad, I will be taking courses at Stellenbosch University - learning about South African history, culture, and language, as well as helping out in the local community and experiencing day-to-day life in a whole new way. Aside from all of that, I will also get to visit places such as Addo Elephant Park, Cederberg Mountains, Boulder's (penguin) Beach, and Robben Island. The YouTube videos I’ve included depict these locations, as well as several other activities I may get to experience! For this trip I will be going through the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) program, beginning my travels alongside many other students from the US. This will hopefully open the doors to new friendships, personal growth, and a new perspective on life.
Although an incredibly worthwhile opportunity, it is certainly not an inexpensive one. My hope is that this campaign will provide me with some financial support for my journey ahead. Words alone can't express how grateful I am to be able to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. I am extremely excited and can't wait to share my experiences with all of you!

My contributions:
I am currently working a full- and part-time job during the summer and will be working a part-time job during the school year. I will also be apply for scholarships to go towards the spring 2020 semester!
