Bring Josey to the Philippines
My Travel Story
I'm starting this campaign on behalf of my wonderful niece Josey! Around Christmas time last year she brought up the idea of coming to the Philippines to volunteer after graduating this June. I was surprised, and excited immediately that she was even considering taking the leap. At Easter when I was home we talked some of it out more, and now it is time to get things started.
Josey will be graduating in early June and hopes to come to the Philippines in late July for 2 months to volunteer with Volunteer for the Visayans. This is the same organization that provided me with a life changing volunteer experience when I was about the same age as Josey. It is also the organization that introduced me to the Philippines, which I now call home. I also happen to be the VP of VFV's Board of Trustees and I continue to be inspired by all the good things they are doing.
During Josey's trip she will be living with a local host family, the same family that has become my own Filipino family. She'll be fully immersed in the Filipino way of life during her volunteer program. During the day she will volunteer at the Cangumbang Communtiy Center, preparing feedings for over 40 sponsored children and preparing special after school activities for them.
To help raise funds for Josey's volunteer program fee as well as her long international flight, I'd like to request your support.
Sincerely,
Elsa
