I am proud to have been accepted to Harvard’s Pre-College program for this coming summer of 2025! For two weeks I will be learning alongside passionate students from around the world while taking the college-level course “Lifestyle Medicine for Brain Health and Well-Being” with professor Dr. Stephanie Peabody, founder and executive director of the Brain Health Initiative.

I am definitely eager for the chance to experience and try managing big city college life: dorms, dining halls, classes, and studying. Most importantly, at Harvard I will be exposed to new fields that get me excited and encourage me to excel in a direction that I can see myself going. As someone who manages the mental health disorder OCD, I’m constantly in a battle with my brain and how it works. My Lifestyle Medicine for Brain Health and Well-Being course will serve me personally and allow me to serve others in a future career focused on mental and physical wellness.

Thankfully, I received a partial scholarship from Harvard and grant support from our local Seward chapter of P.E.O. International. I am now requesting donations to help me get even closer to a summer in Cambridge - thank you for considering supporting this incredible educational opportunity for a small town Alaska girl!
